We worked closely with Creative Director Gavin Leisfield and Senior Producer Jen Lane to create a series of idents for new drama channel, ITV Encore.

Nine idents were created to reflect the breadth of programming and moods on the channel, capturing those fleeting moments where an everyday scene reminds you of a story that’s playing on your mind, or lies buried somewhere deep within.

Shot in Glasgow over the course of a week, our artists worked with Gavin and Jen on-set to bring the fleeting effects to life.

On set we were able to give the team confidence that the scenic plates and action plates would marry up as intended and lay the foundations for the full execution of the idents back at the studio.

One of the trickiest parts of the production was making sure that the different takes we captured were close enough in terms of camera move and sometimes action to stitch together“ said Truss “Having a smoke on set allowed us to match exactly one take to the other using various motion techniques so that we could break set confident that we had all we needed for each scenario.

Back at base we then had a very strong idea of which elements we would be using and could start work on camera tracking right off the bat. It was an intensely iterative project in that layers of light and parts of takes were layered up, pulled back and layered up again until just the right delicate mix of imagery was achieved.”
