Post Production Systems Engineer - NY - Permanent - Hybrid

Coffee and TV group are seeking a skilled mid-tier Post Production Systems Engineer to join our new studio in New York.

As a Post Production Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and optimisation of our post-production workflows. Your expertise in shell scripting and Ansible will be instrumental in automating processes, enhancing efficiency, and maintaining high standards of quality in our post-production environment.

System Maintenance and Optimisation:

1. Manage and maintain Linux-based Flames, BaseLight and Resolve systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
2. Windows-based 3D systems and management system management via GPO and deploy systems like PDQ/SCCM.
3. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to post-production workflows promptly.
4. Implement system upgrades, patches, and optimisations to enhance efficiency and productivity.
5. Familiarity with Pixit Pixstor and VMware vSphere systems is an advantage.

Workflow Automation:

1. Develop and implement shell scripts to automate routine tasks and streamline post-production workflows.
2. Utilise Ansible to orchestrate configuration management and automate deployment processes.
3. Continuously seek opportunities to improve automation processes to increase efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

Technical Support:

1. Provide technical support to post-production teams, assisting with software and hardware configurations, troubleshooting, and optimisation.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges and optimise workflow integration.
3. Proactively identify and resolve potential issues to minimise downtime and ensure uninterrupted post-production operations.

Documentation and Training:

1. Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure consistency.
2. Conduct training sessions for post-production teams to familiarise them with new tools, processes, and best practices.
3. Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

• Proven experience supporting Linux-based systems in a post-production environment.
• Strong proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, Python, etc.) and automation tools such as Ansible are crucial.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
• Solid understanding of post-production workflows, including video editing, colour grading, and visual effects.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and willingness to learn new technologies and techniques.
• Previous experience in the entertainment industry or a post-production facility is a plus.
