Coffee and TV group is seeking a skilled mid-tier Post Production Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Post Production Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and optimization of our post-production workflows. Your expertise in shell scripting and Ansible will be instrumental in automating processes, enhancing efficiency, and maintaining high standards of quality in our post-production environment.
Post Production Systems Engineer – LONDON
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Linux-based Flames, BaseLight, and Resolve systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Windows-based 3D systems and management system management via GPO and deploy systems like PDQ/SCCM.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to post-production workflows promptly.
- Implement system upgrades, patches, and optimizations to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Familiarity with Pixit Pixstor and VMware vSphere systems is an advantage.
- Develop and implement shell scripts to automate routine tasks and streamline post-production workflows.
- Utilise Ansible to orchestrate configuration management and automate deployment processes.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve automation processes to increase efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Provide technical support to post-production teams, assisting with software and hardware configurations, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges and optimize workflow integration.
- Proactively identify and resolve potential issues to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted post-production operations.
- Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure consistency.
- Conduct training sessions for post-production teams to familiarise them with new tools, processes, and best practices.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience supporting Linux-based systems in a post-production environment.
- Strong proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, Python, etc.) and automation tools such as Ansible are crucial.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
- Solid understanding of post-production workflows, including video editing, colour grading, and visual effects.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and willingness to learn new technologies and techniques.
- Previous experience in the entertainment industry or a post-production facility is a plus.
