For Sky Creative’s opening titles for The Lions Tour 2025, we brought to life original artwork by Indigenous Australian artist Konstantina, blending it with layered motion design and CG to create a striking, culturally grounded sequence.

Hosted in Australia, this iconic series celebrates connection across nations and cultures, a vision reflected in every detail of our design.

PROCESS

Early on we took the decision to develop a Houdini workflow for the hero lion, giving us a fully customisable, living painting, rendered from the 3D base model. It was vital to the authenticity of the piece that Konstantina’s artwork was heavily featured in the design of the lion.
The brand theory we received from Sky Creative was bold; deep reds, bright yellows, and rich teals. The film demanded vibrant colours, so one of the first jobs for the DMP team was to generate colour scripts for each shot. Using these we were able to balance the values and hues, as well as make sure each location had a defined ‘feel’, colour temperature and lighting system.

 
Our comp team meticulously assembled each shot using countless 3D passes, textures and DMP artwork for scene projection. They added post effects to help glue the two mediums together to create the illusion that the film had been the work of one artist. The final stage of this process being colour grade, which balanced each shot perfectly.
