We collaborated with gotgotneed Director, Adam Wells and Sky Creative Agency to create the title sequence and on-air campaign for Sky Sports coverage of the Lions 2021 rugby tournament in South Africa.

The studio’s visual effects departments were tasked to symbolise the passion for the sport and rivalry between the teams within the competition.

In 2021 the title sequence won an RTS Craft award and was nominated for campaign of year at the Broadcast Sport Awards’. The Lions project was also nominated for a prestigious BAFTA award in 2022 and for campaign of year at the Broadcast Sport Awards.

Lions was a collaborative journey with Adam Wells and Sky Creative Agency. That trust allowed us to experiment, push boundaries and explore new territories. I believe the key to a great result is in the iterations, attention to detail and the refinement.

Steve Waugh:

It was a great opportunity to create a striking graphic language and combine it with some incredible character animation and storytelling. This project was such a genuine pleasure it never felt like real work.
